Overview

Tom Breen has over 25 years of experience representing domestic and international insurers in matters involving directors and officers liability, lawyers professional liability, miscellaneous professional liability, managed healthcare professional liability and commercial general liability coverage arising out of construction defect litigation. The lawsuits often involve complex RICO, ERISA and federal securities law violations alleged by nationwide classes. Mr. Breen is involved in all aspects of claim evaluation and litigation assessment, with emphasis on prompt exposure reporting and efficient resolution. His expertise includes serving as lead counsel in litigation involving the defense of carriers sued for wrongful disclaimer, bad faith and extra-contractual liability. He also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, with specific expertise in negotiation dynamics at mediations throughout the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

PUBLICATIONS
Tom is the author of two legal thrillers, The Complaint and The Device Trial, published by Pegasus Books of San Jose, California. The Device Trial was recognized as a Winner of the National Indie Book Awards for a legal thriller, as well as a Finalist in the 5th Annual Beverly Hills Book Award in the “crime fiction” category.
