Robert W. Lang is a 1974 graduate of American University and a 1977 graduate of New York Law School. Mr. Lang joined D'Amato & Lynch in 1978. In his more than 30 years of practice, he has represented directors and officers, errors and omissions, professional liability and general liability insurers, in hundreds of matters, including securities class actions, suits against various professionals and against for-profit and not-for-profit entities. His clients include primary and excess insurers. His experience includes securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, class and creditors' breach of fiduciary duty claims - including claims arising out of mergers and acquisitions, stock options backdating and bankruptcies- and consumer class action, employment liability, and professional negligence claims. Mr. Lang has also represented a number of carriers in drafting policies, endorsements, and coverage agreements. Mr. Lang has participated in the successful litigation of insurance coverage disputes and participated in dozens of mediations of claims in connection with both the settlement of underlying claims and the resolution of coverage disputes.
